The Sawyer Micro Squeeze Water Filtration System is a lightweight, compact water filter designed for hiking, tramping, camping, ski touring and backcountry adventures. At just 52 g, it’s an ideal water filtration system for Wānaka and the Southern Alps, giving you a simple way to filter water while carrying less on your adventures.

Whether you’re heading out for a day in the mountains, a multi-day hut trip or a longer backcountry mission, the Micro Squeeze allows you to refill from suitable natural water sources rather than carrying all your water from the start.

The 0.1-micron absolute filter removes 99.99999% of bacteria, including E. coli, Salmonella and cholera, and 99.9999% of protozoa, including Giardia and Cryptosporidium. It also filters out 100% of microplastics.

The Sawyer Micro Squeeze can be used with the included reusable water pouch, the supplied drinking straw, compatible hydration systems or standard 28 mm thread bottles. The durable, flexible pouch is designed for life in the outdoors and packs down easily when not in use.

With a filter life rated up to 378,500 litres, the Micro Squeeze is built for repeated use on hiking and tramping trips, camping adventures, ski touring missions and travel. It’s equally at home exploring the Wānaka backcountry, heading into the Southern Alps or travelling overseas.

When water flow starts to slow, simply backflush the filter with clean water using the included syringe to remove trapped sediment and help restore flow.
