Ski Ability

What Level am I? 

Level 1 = Flat out beginner, ready for some lessons and plenty of coffee. Try McDougalls at Cardrona.

Level 2 = Treble Cone frontside, Cardrona Captains. You can get a few turns in before the coffee bug hits.

Level 3 = Consistent turns on steeper terrain. Maybe try South ridge in the Saddle basin at Treble Cone.

Level 4 = Can you keep up with our man Fly? Big skis, bigger terrain needing big legs and a steady nerve.

Level 5 = Hucking off cliffs. Please don't rent for this as it tends to break things!

Are there special rates available for large groups?

We cater to families and small groups as it is really hard for us to give big groups the level of service we expect of ourselves.

Do we get discounts for Multi-day rental?

15% off after three days on all rental equipment.

Can we get Student Deals?

We have discounts available for children up to 17 years.

Can I exchange my skis if I don't like them?

You can easily swap for different skis or boots, just pop in and let us know your needs.

Can we pick up our ski or snowboard equipment the day before?

Yes.

Can I exchange my ski rental for a snowboard?

Yes.

We want to take a day off in the middle, how do I reserve this?

Just let us know when you arrange your ski hire and we will advise how this is done.

When should I make my reservation?

As soon as you can especially for any school holidays as the whole town can run out of skis at the busiest times.

What's the deal with insurance?

Insurance covers breakge or damage, not loss or theft. As long as we get the skis back and you have paid insurance, then that is the end of it.

Ski gear will not be covered by optional insurance if used on rails.

Where is MT OUTDOORS Rentals?

Directly opposite the New World on Dunmore Street, along from Paper Plus.

Can I have my gear delivered to my hotel?

Yes. Easy as. You just need to be booked into accommodation within Wanaka Centre. 

Can I hire in Wanaka and drop off in Queenstown?

We can also arrange pickups if you finish your trip in Queenstown, let us know about this at the start.
